| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
Under the supervision and guidance of Project Director (PD) and coordination with Project Manager of the project, the Gender and Social Consultant will be responsible for:
• Collection, inclusion, and use of gender-disaggregated data in the various activities, and gender-relevant information technical reports, documents and awareness-raising materials of the Project;
• Implementation of Gender mainstreaming action plan;
• Encourage more increased and active participation of women at the planning, designing, and decision-making levels;
• Develop a training program and curriculum for enhancing gender sensitization among the different ECA committees, staff and sector entities;
• Development of Communication and gender awareness materials;
• Conduct training to enhance sensitization on gender aspects;
• Review and provide comments on various technical policy, plan and conservation management documents to be prepared under the project by the consultancy firm.
• Encourage more increased and active participation of women at the citizen awareness and participation;
• Sensitization of project stakeholders with regards to gender equality. Efforts will be made to promote a balance between male and female participation;
• In training and awareness activities, female participation will be ensured although in this sector participation of women are very limited;
• Ensuring gender balance in the process of natural resource management and planning;
• Support to conduct national, district and upazila level workshops/meetings to facilitate dissemination of information
• Documentation and Knowledge management;
• Any other task given by PD related with the Project. |
| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
Educational Qualifications: Master’s degree in environmental sciences, women and gender studies and other gender related discipline;
Experiences: At least 05 (five) years of demonstrated and relevant working experience in social and gender development in Bangladesh;
• Experience in Gender mainstreaming action plan preparation.
• Experience in developing of training program and curriculum for enhancing gender sensitization;
• Experience in developing of Communication and gender awareness materials;
• Have experience in undertaking gender related training;
• Working knowledge in English and Bangla;
• Ability to use standard office software such as MS-Office;
• Proven analytical capacity; and Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills and ability to maintain good relations with relevant stakeholders;
• Excellent analytical and report writing skills in English.
• Working experience in Environment, Natural Resource Management (NRM) and/or Haor area will be preferable. |
