| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
Facilitate and build capacity of project implementing agencies for the integration of gender perspectives and GAP implementation in the overall strategic planning through conducting gender training and provide technical support on the basis of need of all project component based on the Gender Action plan, the Gender specialist in consultation with the PD and other consultants at PMU, set annual action plan and proposed budget to implement GAP and ensure adequate allocation of human and financial resources for effective mainstreaming of gender in project activities. Ensure the application of sex disaggrerated data across all project activities and record of gender and youth involvement regularly Effectively use gender quantitative and qualitative information collected throughout the project,Conduct gender analysis including the identification of bottleneck (if any) to be an input of monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports as well as a project gender assessment for the completion report and ensure that the results of the data analysis feed into programmatic decisions;
Prepare reports on implementation, monitoring and evaluation including gender balancing and improvement on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis;
Provide support to the implementing agency to monitor and ensure implementation of GAP risk mitigation activities(i.e. climate change adaptation/impacts, prevention of HIVand sexually transmitted infections, trafficking of women and girls, laborstards and remuneration, hazardous works, road safety and any other unanticipated risks and negative gender impacts)based on gender-sensitive approaches;
Provide advice/guidance to project management on any other gender issues that may arise in due course of implementation;
Ensure gender perspective in operational guidelines of field-level intuitions(i.e Market Management Committee(MMC),Common Interest Group (CIG), Beel Users Group(BUG), etc.;
Carry out gender case studies, best practices and lessons learned as well as disseminate gender knowledge products through HILIP/ LGED website, IFAD Asia Network and News letter of LGED;
Ensure to keep provision for gender topic for all trainings of the project;
Ensure that the workshop and the Gender Mainstreaming study are done as planned.

The duration of the assignment may be up to June 2022. During this period, the Gender Specialist will have six (06) person months per year on a retained basis or the input of the Gender Specialist may be intermittent that may be settled during contract negotiation and inception planning period. The Project Director will make this timeframe finalized.
