(ii) Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of New System for the Replacement of Existing Gamma Irradiator Equipment of IRPT, BAEC.
(a) Conveyor: Pneumatic Driven
(b) Minimum Source Efficiency: 35%
(c) DUR (Dose Uniformity Ratio): 1.32 – 2.00
(d) Specification of major equipment: Major parts are conveyor, Control system, and Safety interlock system.
Main components and the specifications are as followed.
(e) Conveyor: Conveyor includes the storage conveyor, Interim conveyor and source pass mechanism. The conveyor will be driven by compressed air cylinder and boxes side must change automatically. Transport system inside the irradiation room will be replaced with a rail-based pneumatic system utilizing boxes. A suitable radiation-resistant box movement system will be employed for lowest possible maintenance of the irradiator. Tote boxes will be transferred into and out of the irradiation room via ground-level-cable-driven trolley system.
(f) Control System and Safety Interlock System. The system must ensure safe and efficient operation of the irradiator, traceable management of data and documentation of whole process and logic functional control based on PLC. Displays are organized in functional groups so that functions are easily located.
